Frank Mickens got the news bug shortly after he enrolled at Syracuse University. Four years later, he earned his broadcast journalism degree from the Newhouse School of Communications.

Frank came to WFMY News 2 from his native Jackson, Mississippi where he earned numerous Associated Press awards for his reporting.

If you weren't on television news, what would you do for a living?
Not sure. I would probably be a college professor, a lawyer or a minister.

Do you have any pets?
I have a cat named Amber. She plays fetch and loves to play with boxes and plastic bags. It's cheap to keep her happy.

What is your favorite food?
Lasagna, macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie, strawberry ice cream. I can't choose just one.

What is your favorite book?
The Bible. It's got everything I need to know.

What are your hobbies?
Singing in the choir, bowling, cooking (not well), reading
