Leigh joined the News 2 team in the spring of 2006. She enjoys keeping people of the Triad informed about the weather as well as offering gardening tips.
She is a proud native of North Carolina and grew up in Hendersonville.
She graduated from UNC (Go Tarheels!) and then went to grad school at Mississippi State University. Her first station was at WBOY in Clarksburg, West Virginia and from there she went to WFMZ in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
After several years away from North Carolina, she is happy to be home again.

If you weren't on television news, what would you do for a living?
I would want to be an architect who designs houses that work with the climate to make them more efficient.
Where did you grow up?
Beautiful Hendersonville, NC- home of the Apple Festival!
What is your favorite food?
Homemade chocolate chip cookies!
What are your hobbies?
I like to go jogging, go to aerobics, play with my dog, and spend time with my friends and family.
Describe your most embarrassing moment.
It was more than a moment! My hair stylist noticed I always tucked my hair behind my ears when I was on air. She decided to help me out and gave a mullet! I wish it only lasted a moment... I was in mullet recovery for about a year after that! The only way to fix it was to cut it ALL short!
