Henry County, VA -- Sheriff's deputies arrested a man on Wednesday for online sexual solicitation of a female child, after investigators received word that the suspect had been engaging in such activities on January 10th.

While posing as the 12 year old female, Investigator Jeremy Stanley began to communicate with the suspect who went by the nickname "K-Lee."

"K-Lee" stated that he wanted to meet the juvenile female.

Through the course of conversation, "K-Lee" described, explicitly, acts that he wished to perform with the juvenile female.

Investigator Stanley, still posing as the child, arranged to meet "K-Lee, who said they would be driving a white van.

Investigators Stanley and Jeremy Farmer responded to a prearranged meeting location.

At approximately 8:57pm on January 10th, a white van arrived at the meeting location.

The investigators approached the van and identified themselves, at which time the white van sped off. A vehicle pursuit ensued that involved the investigators and the Patrol Division of the Henry County Sheriff's Office, deputies with the Patrick County Sheriff's Office as well as troopers with the Virginia State Police.

The white van was stopped by spike strips deployed by the Virginia State Police and "K-Lee" was taken into custody.

"K-Lee" was identified as Kary Lee Taylor, Jr., 40, of Frank Redd Road in Fieldale, VA. He was arrested and charged with Use of Electronic Means to Entice or Allure a Minor to Conduct a Sexual Act and Attempt to Elude Police, both felonies.

Taylor was jailed without bond.

Investigator Stanley and Investigator Farmer are Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigators for the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office has assisted in such investigations in the past but this was the first such locally initiated investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff L.A. Perry recommends that parents and guardians closely monitor their children's use of the internet to ensure they are visiting sites that are appropriate. The use of parental control software will aid parents in monitoring and restricting sites their children have access to.
