Greensboro, NC -- A lot of positive things happened on Wall Street in January. The Dow Jones Industrial average increased 3.4% in January and the Standard and Poor's 500 gained 4.4%. It's the best showing for both since 1997.
Michael Wittenberg with Wittenberg, Priddy, Blankenship in Winston-Salem says more than 80% of the time when January is good on Wall Street, so is the rest of the year.
Wittenberg says it has a lot to do with Europe. He says European leaders are making good progress on dealing long term with the financial crisis there, and that's positive energy is spreading to the US.
Rosemary Plybon talked with Wittenberg on the Good Morning Show Wednesday. Click on the video to see what he has to say about the outcome of the Super Bowl and what it sometimes means for the markets.
