Triad -- High pressure has been in control of our weather for a few days.  So far it has brought cool weather to the Piedmont.  When it comes to high pressure, it's all about location, location, location.  When you are on the front side of a high pressure system, you have cool weather.  When you're behind it, you have warmer weather.  This weekend, we are behind the high and that will make for a very pleasant stretch of days.

Saturday will bring plenty of sun and highs in the mid 70s.  That's 8-10 degrees warmer than Friday. The mild air stays in place Saturday night,  with partly cloudy skies, and lows only fall to the low 50s.  Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies, and highs will be close to 80.

Last week ended on a cool note.  Some places even had frost a few mornings.  This weekend and next week look to remain much milder.  Highs will be in the 70s and 80s.  Lows will stay in the 50s, easing the fear of frost as we approach mid April.
