Constructions Begin On Many Triad Roads, Highways

In Lexington, a section of N.C. 8 near U.S. 29 will be closed temporarily on Monday, April 16th from 9 AM until 11 AM for bridge work.  Motorists can take the following signed detour route around the work zone:  Traveling west - Take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 North, turn left onto Old Greensboro Road, then take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 south back to N.C. 8.  Traveling east - Take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 South to U.S. 64, then take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 north back to NC 8.

In Forsyth County, U.S. 421 South over Muddy Creek has one lane closed.  Motorists traveling on 421 South may encounter delays through next week due to paving work.  NCDOT expects to have the paving completed by Wednesday April 18th.  Also, NCDOT has closed the off ramp at Exit 240 (Peace Haven Road) from U.S. 421 South.   Drivers can avoid the work zone by taking a 3 mile detour.  From U.S. 421 South, take Exit 242 (Lewisville-Clemmons Road.)  Follow Lewisville-Clemmons Road to I-40 East.
