Greensboro, NC -- How about this to spice up the City Council meeting, Monday night's meeting featured some super heroes!
'Captain America' and 'The Green Lantern' were on-hand as council members approved a resolution declaring the city Comic Book City USA.

Greensboro will only be known as Comic Book City USA on the first Saturday of May every year, as that's International Free Comic Book Day.

But this proclamation is about more than comics. Organizers say comic books are not just about laughter and characters, but also promote literacy and reading for enjoyment in young children.

This year, Free Comic Book Day is May 5th and will be marked with events at Greensboro's ACME Comics and the Natural Science Center.
