Greensboro, NC-- In case you didn't realize it, Monday, April 23 was 'World Book Night.' It is only the second time the observance has been held.
World Book Night's goal this year was to give away one million books in one night, to anyone.
A Greensboro woman who loves to read, took the mission to heart. Jennifer McCollum gave away books Monday night at Center City Park.
And the books she gave away are from a local author.
McCollum was handing out Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, who is from Greensboro. McCollum had 30 copies she hoped to give away.
Organizers recruited volunteers to hand out books of their choice. They said World Book Night is also an opportunity to invite people to give the e-books a break and give the classic way of reading chance.
