Wlimington, NC -- Govenor Beverly Perdue says she'll propose that the state budget $1 million to develop training courses for people who want to work on production crews in North Carolina's film industry.

The StarNews of Wilmington reported that Perdue said at a news conference Wednesday in Wilmington that the money would go to community colleges in Wilmington and Winston-Salem. Those schools would offer 10 new courses in film industry jobs such as set construction as makeup artistry.

Perdue says the courses will be based on jobs that productions need.

Perdue held the news conference at EUE/Screen Gems Studio accompanied by studio executive vice president Bill Vassar and Wilmington Mayor Bill Saffo.
