Greensboro, NC -- Local students are trying to make their outdoor space more beautiful for the entire community.
Bluford Elementary School students planted flowers and plants on a new walking trail by their school. They also helped design the landscaping.
"Each grade level has their own landscape area. They had the opportunity to design as a grade level and they've also worked with Home Depot in choosing the plants that will survive in these areas as well," said Bluford Principal Stephanie Boykin.
Boykin says the trail gives the students a chance for a hands-on learning experience. "They've been learning about plants and habitats."
Home Depot donated the plants and supplies for the trail. They also sent volunteers to help students with the design.
