Blue Ridge Parkway Worker Killed: Asheville Citizen Times
Asheville, NC-- A Blue Ridge Parkway maintenance worker was killed this morning when his mower went over an embankment.
The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. at the Haw Creek Overlook near the Folk Art Center, parkway ranger Steve Stinnett said.
Parkway officials identified the man as Dana Bruce, 63, of Alexander.
Bruce was a seasonal maintenance employee who had been with the Parkway for three years, according to officials.
The worker was operating a riding mower when it went over the edge of a steep embankment, he said.
