Greensboro, NC -- Monday's great weather makes time spent outside enjoyable, and some local children have a new place to learn while enjoying the great weather.
Children and their parents helped paint the new "Born Learning Trail" at the Claremont Courts Apartments located off Phillips Avenue. The trail has games, shapes, numbers and designs along the way, their goal is to promote pre-literacy and motor skills and prepare toddlers for school.
The trail extends from Claremont Courts all the way to the McGirt Horton Library. The official opening and ribbon cutting will be held May 11.
"It means a lot to me because I really like to expand my kids' education," said Shanet Moore, local mother. "If it means them not being in school, at least there's something they can learn from. They can count, you can have the hands, they can play hopscotch and just enjoy themselves out here."
Volunteers from the Greensboro Housing Authority and United Way helped create the learning trail.
