Trinity, NC-- When you normally hear Bobby Labonte's name on Sundays, you're probably expecting him to be strapped into his No. 47 car waiting on the flag to drop for the race.
This Sunday, you might see Labonte -- but he'll be on two wheels and he has a message: "Share The Road."
Labonte is sponsoring and riding in a cycling event called "Share The Road" Memorial Ride, in an effort to bring attention to cyclists killed on the highways in North Carolina.
This is the second year that the Bobby Labonte Foundation has held the event where he lives in Trinity.
The ride will also benefit the Bikes Belong Foundation, which uses the money for children's bicycle programs and Randolph County Schools' Backpack Pals program.
The ride begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at Wheatmore High School.
Wednesday, cyclists across the world held the annual "Ride of Silence" to honor those killed while cycling.
