Burlington, NC-- A registered sex offender is facing charges for violating rules to stay away from children.

On Sunday, May, 20 the Burlington Police Department received information regarding a suspicious person who was seen at the Holly Hill Mall on Huffman Mill Rd.

The caller told Police a man was inside the mall walking around the outer portion of the Bounce Around House watching the children play and smiling at them.

The caller said they felt uneasy about this person so when they returned home they began searching the NC Sex Offender Site and found a person they believed to be the same man they observed at the Mall.

Detectives started investigating and made contact with the suspect Monte Paul Miller, 54 of Burlington. As a result of the investigation, Miller was arrested on Friday and charged with Sex Offender Unlawfully on Premise. According to court ordered rules, Miller is not to be within 300 feet of any place intended primarily for the use, care, or supervision of minors.

Miller was placed in the Alamance County Jail under a $25,000.00 secured bond.
