Greensboro, NC -- A Triad woman has overcome major obstacles to graduate from the Haynes-Inman Education Center in Jamestown.

Born at 2 pounds and 13.5 ounces, Shnee' Garner has grown up to be a person that people can look up to.

"Shnee' was so small that we could almost hold her in the palm of our hand," said Shnee's mother, Gail McCain.

Her mother said that even today Shnee' has multiple disabilities with many ongoing challenges. She said that when Shnee' was young, doctors told her that Shnee' would have to live in a special needs home by the time she turns 14.

"Little did he know, today Shnee' is 22 and still living with me in my home. Although the road has had many challenges I can't take anything from our journey."

On Tuesday Shnee' will be the first person and only person to graduate from the Haynes-Inman Education Center.

"If Shnee' could talk, she would be just as proud as we are," said Gail.
