Greensboro, NC -- Thousands of Triad teens walked across the stage today at the Greensboro Coliseum.

For one senior, graduating high school took on a whole new meaning.

WFMY News 2's Chantee Lans has followed Don Sutton for weeks, and tonight she shares the story of how he finally accomplished his dream of graduating with his class.

Sutton escaped an abusive household, lived in a homeless shelter and walked 10 miles to school all to see this day.

"When you work so hard, and you strive, and you just struggle so much along the way, and then at the end, you walk across the stage and you receive your diploma, it's like you accomplished something," said Sutton.

He continues to receive community support. After his ceremony, Chantee handed him a card that was mailed to News 2 from a complete stranger all the way out in California.

Don has been accepted to the Art Institute in Charlotte.

Tune in to WFMY News 2 at 11, and stay tuned to Digtriad for more on this amazing story.
