Charlotte, NC-- Police in Charlotte said a woman is facing charges for assaulting her neighbors with hot grease.
According to Investigators, the suspect Regina Terry faces multiple counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Malicious Maiming.
The charges stem from an incident Sunday afternoon. Police responded to a fight call just before 1 p.m. after a group of girls got into an argument.
Neighbors said they heard arguing for about 10 to 15 minutes and then watched a woman from one apartment throw hot grease on people from the neighboring apartment.
Police told WBTV that eight people in all were hurt. The victims range from 1 year old to 42 years old. Four of the victims were taken to a burn center in Chapel Hill. Two others were treated and released at a local hospital. At least one person did not show up for treatment, officers said.
Medics returned to the scene around 6 p.m. and transported a 3-year-old to the hospital to treat superficial burn wounds to her arms.
A neighbor told WBTV that she heard them arguing all the time, but never saw a physical confrontation. The neighbor said the hot grease attack takes the fighting to another level.
