Salisbury, NC-- A convenience store owner is charged in connection to the death of a teenager.
Police charged the owner with selling beer to a minor hours before the teen died in a skateboarding accident.
The Salisbury Post reported that the owner of Z and H Mart was charged with two counts of liquor law violation. Fifty-eight-year-old Hecham Nauraldin Abualeinan posted a $1,000 bond and was released Monday from the Rowan County jail.
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office says 16-year-old Jonah King purchased an 18-pack of beer June 9 and another 18-pack June 10. He was injured about 1:30 a.m. June 11 and died the next day at a Winston-Salem hospital.
The Alcohol Law Enforcement agency says alcohol contributed to the accident. Abualeinan told a Salisbury Post reporter that he was busy and he declined to comment
