Lexington, NC-- A woman and her children are shaken but safe after a man tried to break into their home on Monday.
The victim called 911 after a car pulled in her driveway and a man she didn't know got out. She said the man was walked around her house and had knocked on the front and back door.
The woman didn't answer the door and said the man got back in his car and backed out of her driveway. The victim said she saw car stop not far from the house and man went into a wooded area.
While Deputies were enroute, the suspect went back to the woman's house and according to the victim, he knocked on the front door again. After no response, the man went to an outbuilding on the property and took a hammer.
The suspect used the hammer to break out a window to the children's bedroom and at the point the victim screamed at the man and he took off.
Deputies saw the car a few miles from the house and stopped it. Reginald Lamoras Brown, 33 was arrested and later charged in the incident.
Brown is charged with: Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny After Breaking & Entering, Felony Littering and Driving While License Revoked. His bond was set at $45,000.00.
