GREENSBORO - The Department of Veterans Affairs and the Salvation Army teamed up to hold a jobs seminar for veterans.

Unemployed veterans say it can be tough to juggle finding a job and dealing with homelessness.

Homeless veteran Paul Crabtree said, "It's not just finding a place or a job or an agency. But you're having to deal with your own homelessness as well, and that is something that can tax you even further making your situation a little more difficult."

The seminar leader recommends the Gold Card program or the Veterans Assistance Training Program for jobless veterans who qualify.

The Gold Card program is just for post-9/11 veterans. It offers job training, placement, referrals and counceling.

The Veterans Training Assistance Training program is for veterans between 35 and 60 years old.

If you're a veteran in need of assistance, the Department of Veterans Affairs is at 3515 W Market St. in Greensboro.
