Triad -- Saturday was a warm day with an official high at PTI Airport of 87. That's average for this time of year. The next two days will be warmer than average. One form of relief will be the possibility of thunderstorms. There's a 30% chance on Sunday. Not everyone will get rain, but the lucky ones who do will see at least a temporary cool-down.
Monday will bring cooler air which will stick around a bit longer. That's because there's another cold front coming this way. It will move through late Monday and bring a 40% chance of thunderstorms. Even though we could reach the low 90s just before the front pulls through, there is cooler air behind it. Highs on Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the mid 80s. Overnight lows will be in the upper 50s.
That air mass won't stick around forever though. By Thursday, a new warming trend will begin. Highs will be in the low 90s by Thursday and could potentially be in the upper 90s by the end of the week and next weekend. That is hotter than we have been all year...
