Winston-Salem, NC -- Police are investigating a car accident involving an officer Monday morning.
Officer L.B. Collier was traveling on N. Patterson Ave. with his siren and lights on, according to a police report.
Kenneth Wright, who didn't see the patrol car, drove out of the Northside Bowling Lanes parking lot and collided with Collier.
Collier's car swerved off the road and ran into a tree.
The officer was treated for minor injuries, and Wright was not injured.
Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene.
The WSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating and charges are pending.
