Davidson County, NC -- Deputies in Davidson County are investigating a drowning that happened Wednesday night.
Emergency workers were dispatched around 9:29 pm, to a house on Giles Road where a boy found in the pool unresponsive.
The boy was taken to Lexington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as 10 year old Griffin Alexander Owens.
Witnesses told officers Griffin and other children were playing in the pool. At some point all the children except Griffin left the pool. A short time later, he was found in the pool.
Officer said the the pool was an above ground unit.
Deputies are still investigating the drowning which happened in the Tyro community.
