Gibsonville, NC -- Local and state leaders of the NAACP came together with members of the community along with veterans to lend their support for Ernie Pinnix.

Pinnix, a Purple Heart Vietnam Veteran has been a vocal opponent to replacing the Confederate Soldier Statue in downtown Reidsville. The statue was knocked over by a sleepy driver last year.

Pinnix was the victim  of what the NAACP is calling a domestic terrorist attack, when someone vandalized his auto shop with anti-Obama slurs, and carved derogatory remarks on his truck.

Ernie says he's is ready to turn this negative into a positive, but understands and supports the NAACP in their efforts to get the State and Federal Attorneys General involved in this case.

Ernie took the Reverend Barbour on a tour of his business and showed him where the offensive slurs had been.

Ennie Pinnix says he got rid of the spray painting two weeks after it occured. The carving in the truck will take a little more time as repairs are still being made and it will need repainting.
