Greensboro, NC -- A standoff has ended in Guilford County with a suspect turning himself over to police.

Officers blocked off Old Randleman Rd. and several of its surrounding roads this morning in a standoff.

According to Col. Powers of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, someone reported shots fired from 4600 block of Old Randleman Rd. just after 9 a.m. Officers determined at least three shots were fired and one hit the back of a neighbor's car.

Police spent several hours attempting to make contact with the man responsible for the shots.

The standoff ended around 1:30 p.m. when the suspect turned himself over to police.

The man has volunteered to take a mental evaluation at a local mental facility.

Because the man agreed to the evaluation, HIPPA Laws state his name cannot be released.
