Greensboro, NC -- Police are investigating an incident involving an abandoned newborn Monday night.
Officers found the baby boy in a diaper and wrapped in a blanket behind a house on O'Ferrell St around 7:40 p.m.
No one was at the house, so it took a neighbor hearing the baby's cries to get someone to call police.
They have no idea how long the baby was alone outside.
Police think the baby was born today.
He's been transported to a hospital, and we're told he's doing fine.
Officers are currently looking for a woman they say knows about the abandoned child. She's described as a Hispanic woman with red hair driving a 90s-model white Honda Accord or Civic.
Police would only say they hope she can help with the investigation.
Anyone with information should call police at (336) 574-3573 or Crimestoppers at (336) 373-1000.
