Triad --  Let's face it.  It has been hot for about two weeks now.  Really hot!  Highs will be in the upper 90s for one more day before changes begin.

Sunday's highs will be close to today's levels.  The difference will be the humidity.  It will actually go up.  That is why most of the area is under a Heat Advisory for the afternoon and evening on Sunday.  Heat indices will be 103-105.

The good news is that a cold front is heading south right now.  The bad news is that it could bring strong to severe thunderstorms on its way through.

There is a slight chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon.  There's only a 20% chance but any that do manage to fire could be quite strong.  On Monday, the actual front will be moving through and that will bring our best chance of widespread rain.  There's a 70% chance of thunderstorms on Monday.  They could be strong to severe with the biggest threat being gusty and even damaging winds.

By Tuesday, the front will stall over the Carolinas.  That will bring cooler temps and keep us in the mid 80s most of the week ahead.  It will also keep us unsettled enough to bring a chance of thunderstorms each afternoon.   If your yard is looking a little rough, cooler temperatures and afternoon rain could be just what it needs.
