Guilford County, NC -- A car chase through Guilford and Alamance Counties ended with no injuries and one man in jail.

Sheriff BJ Barnes said that a deputy spotted a green Buick around 1 pm on Sunday after it turned onto I-840 from Burlington Rd. The car matched the description of the vehicle used in an armed robbery from a Greensboro Police alert.

Deputies attempted to pull the car over, and even though it looked like the person was going to slow down, he accelerated to speeds over 110 mph. The chase continued into Alamance County where the Alamance County Sheriff's Office joined.

The driver, Antonio Britt, lost control of his car near the Tucker Street Bridge and hit a truck pulling a camper, but was able to regain control.

A Guilford County Deputy pulled in front of the car and slowed down while other deputies boxed the driver in beside the concrete barrier wall. Britt lost control of his car again and hit one of the Guilford County Deputies' car, which spun and crashed into the barrier.

When the cars stopped Britt ran, but was taken into custody by Mebane Police, Alamance and Guilford County Sheriff's Deputies.

Britt, 21, was charged with Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, Felony Speed to Elude, Failure to Heed Lights and Siren, Careless and Reckless Driving, No Operator's License and Armed Robbery. He was also wanted for a probation violation.
