(Burlington, NC) -- This morning shortly after midnight, Burlington Police, Burlington Fire and Alamance County EMS responded to 721 Ford Street Burlington, NC regarding a First Degree Burglary and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.
Officers located a 65-year-old black female in the residence suffering from a single gunshot wound to her right abdomen. Witnesses reported that two black males made entry into the residence, by kicking in the front door. The suspects were described as thin built and in their twenties.
The victim was initially transported to ARMC for treatment and was later transported to UNC Chapel Hill where she was last reported to be in critical condition.
