Greensboro, NC-- Police in Greensboro have charged a man with having sex with an underage boy in a park.

Monday night, police said Christopher Angelo Manzo, 22 of Pittsboro, NC was arrested in Cary in connection to an alleged sex offense involving a 14 year-old boy at Bur-Mil Park in June.

During his first court appearance on Monday, Court documents revealed that Manzo's victim is a 14 year-old male. The judge reduced his bond from $150,000.00 to $100,000.00. Manzo's next scheduled court appearance is August 21.

Police said Manzo is suspected of engaging in sexual activity with the teenager during a pre-arranged meeting at the park.

Manzo was arrested Monday where he works as a Cary Firefighter, by the Cary Police Department. He was then released to the custody of the Greensboro Police Department's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team for transportation to Greensboro.

Police charged Manzo with Statutory Sex Offense and two counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor.

Tuesday, Deanna Boone, with the Town of Cary, confirmed to WFMY News 2 that Manzo is currently a Firefighter who works for the town. Boone said his status has not changed as of this morning.

WRAL has confirmed that Manzo is a substitute teacher in Wake County.

Bur-Mil Park officials learned about the incident last week and reported it to police.  Parks and Recreation officials have concluded this was an isolated incident and have no reason to believe any other minors were involved or endangered.

In addition, officials continue to review Parks and Recreation Department operating procedures to ensure the safety of all park visitors.
