Greensboro-Rain and thunderstorms moved across the Piedmont last evening. More scattered storms could lead to areas of flash flooding later today and tonight.
A stationary front over the Piedmont along with daytime heating will produce a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and again on Sunday.
Although a few severe storms with damaging winds are possible, the greater threat with these storms with be locally heavy rainfall. If areas that got rain yesterday get more today, flash flooding is possible.
High temperatures today and Sunday will be in the mid 80's. The chance of showers will decrease as the temperatures increase into the new week. High will be in the lower 90's with a 30% chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
