(Winston-Salem, NC) -- Winston-Salem police and Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center security officers have apprehended three suspects on campus who ran away from the scene of an alleged crime that occurred elsewhere in the city this morning.
Authorities say the men, who apparently were carrying weapons in their vehicle, had fled into one of the Medical Center parking garages with police in pursuit.
Police have apprehended all three men and the Medical Center lockdown that had been in place for the protection of patients, families and staff, has been lifted.
One Wake Forest Baptist security officer, who was injured during the incident, is listed in fair condition.
The emergency department is accepting patients and those with scheduled appointments are now able to access Medical Center buildings.
