Colorado-- The recent sighting of a mountain top tornado in Colorado makes some folks wonder how often these rare sights really happen and how dangerous they are.
The National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado formed above Mount Evans over the weekend.
It is the second highest tornado ever recorded by the National Weather Service - forming at 11,900 feet.
The tornado did not cause any damage. However, it did surprise many drivers on Mount Evans.
Some were above the tornado and had the rare opportunity to look down into the funnel.
