Greensboro, NC -- A Greensboro police officer is on administrative duties after being charged with assault in Surry County.
According to the news release from Greensboro Police, Officer TL Eastridge Jr. turned himself in today at the Surry County Sheriff's Office after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant states that he assaulted his wife at their home in Surry County.
Eastridge faces one count of Assault on a Female.
Susan Danielsen with GPD said in a release, the department will conduct an internal administrative investigation to determine if the employee violated any of our conduct rules. Danielsen said this is standard procedure for the department.
Eastridge will be placed on administrative duties with no law enforcement responsibilities until the case has proceeded through the Surry County Court system.
Eastridge, 30, is a seven year veteran of the Greensboro Police Department. He is currently ranked as a Police Officer II.
Until the alleged assault charge, he was assigned to the Tactical Narcotics Team, the uniformed operational unit of the Vice and Narcotics Division.
