Triad -- Many people began the day a little earlier than usual on Sunday. Flooding rains and a few imbedded thunderstorms rolled through the Piedmont between about 3:00 and 5:00 this morning. That left flooding in some spots. Even a few trees came down across the area. Some spots picked up 2-3" of rain by late afternoon.
All of that rain has saturated the ground in many places. That could lead to areas of fog for Monday morning. That will be the first thing to watch out for as you head into the new week.
Monday will remain mostly cloudy. Highs will be around 80. A front has been stalled out to our south and that is what brought Sunday's rain. It will continue to be parked to our south on Monday and that will allow for more rain potential as waves of energy move along it. The rain shouldn't be nearly as heavy as it was on Sunday. The showers should be more scattered.
We will still be unsettled on Tuesday as the 40% rain chance continues. Highs will still be in the low 80s.
The rest of the week should allow us to dry out. Highs will be in the mid 80s with partly cloudy skies.
