Tampa, FL - Gov. Mitt Romney officially became the Republican nominee for President of the United States Thursday in the final night of the Republican National Convention.
Gov. Romney said in his speech he had a plan to create 12 million jobs in America by cutting taxes for businesses and focusing on the energy sector.
In the speech, Romney was emotional at times, describing the love he had for his parents.
Romney said "Today the time has come to turn the page, today the time has come to put the disappointments of the last four years behind us, to put aside the divisiveness and the recriminations. To forget about what might have been and to look ahead to what can be."
The Democrats will have their turn next week as the Democratic National Convention gets underway in Charlotte.
It will then be a sprint to election day with only about nine weeks to go until Election Day, November 6th.
