Winston-Salem, NC -- Forsyth County Habitat for Humanity is wrapping up its annual "Labor of Love" construction blitz Saturday.

"Labor of Love" is a nearly week-long event where volunteers try to build several homes by the end of a four-day period.

This year, Habitat had nearly 100 volunteers help build a new house in the Smith Farm neighborhood. The group, including members of local United Methodist churches and Wells Fargo, remodeled and repaired existing homes in Kimberly Park as part of Habitat's new Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative.

Volunteers also poured cement for sidewalks for an outdoor classroom at Kimberly Park Elementary School and helped restore the school's community garden.

The construction started Wednesday and is scheduled to be completed Saturday afternoon.
