Burlington, NC -- A Burlington woman is trying to help Isaac victims.  Delores Butler held a food drive, not for people but for their pets, Saturday at the Tractor Supply Store on Garden Road in Burlington.

Butler says The Red Cross will get the food to Gulf Coast Shelters...so that families can feed their pets without having to surrender them. She says their owners were their heroes and she wants to make sure they can continue to feed them while recovering from the damage.

"We need a place where these people can go with their pets. 'You can't take your pet to a shelter.' Well what do you think they're going to do? Are you going to leave your pet to drown?'"

Butler said the next fundraiser will happen at the same store  September 7th, 8th, and 9th from 9 am to 3 pm.
