Greensboro, NC - After a solemn day in remembrance of September 11th, we could all use a pick me up; a celebration of American history.

Spirit of America is a patriotic story of the men and women who left their families to protect and defend the United States.  The show celebrates the spirit of the nation with a combination of music, narration and live action dramatization.

The best part, the story is told through the eyes of the American soldier so in the end you really feel a unique connection.

"It gets touching, because my grandfather was in the Korean War so every time you do this, have to think about it, said SGT Jeffrey Liles who is with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment.

Spirit of America only performs in two cities a year.  This time Greensboro is one of them so don't miss your chance to see patriotism at its best.

It features performances by more than 300 active-duty Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own."  Elements of The Old Guard include the U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, the Caisson Platoon, the Commander-in-Chief's Guard and the U.S. Army Drill Team.

There are four performances for the free show this weekend.  They are at 10:30am and 7:30pm on Friday, September 14th and at 2:00pm and 7:30pm on Saturday, September 15th.  All shows are at the Greensboro Coliseum.  Ticket reservations are accepted at the box office or ticketmaster.
