Winston-Salem, NC -- What better way to learn, than to get hands on.
Saturday, hundreds of middle-schooler's from Forsyth County got together at Forsyth Tech for the annual Robot Run Tournament.
Kids were graded on their research project, robot design and professionalism. It's just one way to get kids excited about science, technology and math.
"When these students grow up they are going to be doing jobs that aren't yet invented, and most of them are going to be in fields that they going to be applying critical thinking skills. They are going to develop new technologies, they are going to innovating, and we are teaching to them to do that rght now," said Melita Wise, Haynes Magnet School Principal.
The students designed the robots themselves to best complete the different challenges.
The theme of the 2012 event was "Senior Citizens" or things a senior citizen might encounter. Good job to all of them.
