Stokesdale, NC -- Rockingham County 911 says a woman gave birth to a baby in the parking lot of the Huddle House restaurant.
It happened at 12:43 am Monday on Highway 220.
Witnesses say a man pulled into the restaurant parking lot asking for help. That's when an employee of Huddle House called 911 to report a woman already in labor.
Nikki Hopkins, a part time telecommunicator with Rockingham County 911, assisted with the delivery over the phone.
Dispatchers say the woman gave birth to a girl. Paramedics transported the mother and newborn to Women's Hospital in Greensboro.
