Aurora, CO-- A mother and her child are injured but alive thanks to the quick action of some officers and samaritans.
Aurora Police said a mother, her 2-year-old daughter, and 4 year-old twins were crossing three lanes of traffic night when a car hit them pinning them under the car.
An off-duty police officer who was working security at a Walmart across the street, on-duty Sgt. Matt Brukbacher and several civilians ran to help.
The men literally lifted the car off the woman and her daughter. Officers said the twins were not pinned.
All were taken to the Aurora Medical Center. Police said the mom is in intensive care because of a head injury as well as broken bones.
Her daughte had cuts and bruises, is still in the hospital and the boys were released after being examined, police said.
Everyone is calling the men heroes.
