Charlotte, NC -- Charlotte-based Belk Inc. is adding about 150 jobs to deal with its growing online sales.
The Charlotte Observer reported the jobs will be added at the company headquarters, which currently has about 1,000 workers.
The company did not provide a salary range, but described the positions as management jobs in information technology and electronic commerce.
Belk reported that electronic sales increased about 70 percent in the third quarter of the year.
Belk spent about $4.5 million on an online fulfillment center in Jonesville, S.C., as part of its online sales effort. That center opened in June and is expected to create more than 120 jobs in the next five years in Union County, S.C.
