Winston-Salem, NC -- The Rose Bowl. A holiday tradition.
The football game, the parade, and all signs we're entering the new year. This year's Rose Bowl Parade features a tribute to a Triad man as a symbol of new life.
Jean Bost, Danny's Wife, "Well my husband woke up one morning and he was not feeling well, he had a stroke we could tell through everything that was tried for him and done for him we was not able to survive."
Danny Bost died after a stroke in September 2010. They say Danny lived to help other people, so his wife and daughters decided to donate his organs. So now, other people are alive because of his death. Jean Bost said, "I would like everyone to give very good thought to being a donor, whether it be to North Carolina Eye Bank or to North Carolina Organ Donation. There are numerous people out there that are in need of organs and tissue and it's just a great opportunity to see life go forth."
So Frank Vogler and Sons decided to honor Danny with a floragraph, a picture made of flowers. That floragraph will be on the "Donate Life" float in the 124th Rose Bowl Parade.
