Winston-Salem, NC -- Fire investigators in Winston Salem remained on the scene of a fatal fire until late Tuesday evening.
Battalion Chief Craig Williams said a 911 call was made around 11:54am about a mobile home on fire. Crews arrived in minutes and after gaining control of the flames, firefighters found two people dead inside, a male and female.
The mobile home was located on Kirk Drive inside city limits.
Thursday, the victims were identified as 57 year-old Bruce Roberts and 83 year-old Betty Roberts. Investigators said both died from smoke inhalation.
A power strip malfunction in a bedroom was the cause of the fire, investigators said.
