Neighbor Alerts Police To Suspects After Flea Market Break-In

Eden, NC-- Police in Eden say they credit a anonymous person who alerted them to a suspicious vehicle that lead to a break-in arrest.

Officers with the Eden Police Department said around 3:50am, they received a call from a concerned citizen in reference to a suspicious vehicle located at Lisa Beth Apartments on South Van Buren Road. When officers arrived they found a 2003 Ford Windstar van, parked in the parking lot near the woods at the back of the apartment complex.

They talked to one man still inside the van and another suspect ran off into the woods. Officers were unable to catch him. The person still in the van was identified as Randal Edgar Fry of Pepper Road in Oak Ridge. .

During their investigation, officers learned that the Eden Flea Market was broken into by the suspects who hammered a hole through the cinder block wall to make entry into the building. Once inside the business, Fry and the other unknown suspect targeted a coil vendor of the Eden Flea Market.

As a result of the investigation, Randal Fry's vehicle was seized as well as and a very large assortment of coins and currency that was taken from the business.

Fry was arrested and charged with Felonious Breaking and Entering and Felonious Larceny after Breaking and Entering.
