Greensboro, NC - Governor-elect Pat McCrory is preparing to be inaugurated as North Carolina's 68th Governor on Saturday, beginning Republican control of the Governor's office and the General Assembly for the first time since 1870.
Pat McCrory campaigned on making big changes to the state's government, including lower taxes and changing the state's public education policy.
McCrory is seeking to lower the corporate tax rate, lower personal income taxes, and eliminate the estate tax.
He also wants to create two degree options for high school graduates, one for college readiness, and one for technical training.
With Republican's in control of the General Assembly, many of these changes could come to be quickly.
McCrory takes office on Saturday at noon.
