Mayodan, NC - Students at McMichael High School returned to school Monday after their principal, Leigh Jones, was injured in a fatal car wreck Friday.
High school staff said they planned to hold a staff crisis meeting prior to the start of the school day and another meeting at the day's end.
Jones is recovering after 70-year-old Linda Chandler crossed the center line on US 220 North Friday. Chandler died after the head-on collision at Moses Cone Hospital.
WFMY News 2 first reported Jones was involved in the accident Saturday and noticed students shared their support for the McMichael principal on Twitter.

Leigh Jones has been employed as principal at McMichael High School since August 2011. She was awarded Rockingham County Schools Principal Of The Year 2012.
