Greensboro, NC -- Jones Elementary and the City of Greensboro rewarded a city native with a key to the city Tuesday morning.

Fred Whitfield, Charlotte Bobcats Sports & Entertainment President and COO, was honored at the school for his career success. Hundreds of students attended the event.

Greensboro Mayor Pro Tem Yvonne Johnson and District 3 City Councilman Zack Matheny presented Whitfieild with the key.

Jones Elementary recognizes someone from Greensboro each year who's professional success has been an inspiration to others.
