Walkertown, NC-- Investigators in Forsyth County said three families lost their home to a fire that was intentionally set by a teenager.
Sunday, fire crews were dispatched around 6;32pm to a reported building fire on Baux Mountain Road. When firefighters arrived, they found an outbuilding and three single-wide mobile homes fully involved. Firefighters worked quickly to put out the fire, but were unable to save the homes.
Investigators ruled the fire was intentionally set.
As a result of the investigation, Officers said a 16 year-old was taken into custody and charged with setting the fire.
Damages from the fire to all structures are estimated at $15,000.00. Detectives said the homeowners did not have any insurance. They are currently being helped by the American Red Cross.
At least five different fire departments responded to the fire.
